A new series of regional guides, Exploring Woodland, describes and illustrates the 100 best woodland sites in each area. Fully illustrated with maps and photographs, these are the essential visitors guides for all nature lovers.

The Woodland Trust protects over 1,000 woods throughout the UK and has 200,000 supporters nationwide. These guides bring us the best of British woodland in handy regional guides. Both privately-owned and public woods are included, all easily accessible. All sites are checked by Woodland Trust volunteers so that the information included is the best available.

The series is supported by woodland enthusiast and impressionist Alastair McGowan and he will be writing an introduction for the book.

An essay will introduce the woodland of each region highlighting particular points of interest, and a series of locator maps show where the sites are and how to get to them.

100 of the best sites will be described and illustrated, and other places of interest in the area will be listed to make the most of the day out.
