Perceptions of Islam in Western Media - L G Herring

Since the September 11th 2001 terror attacks on the world trade centre, the Islamic faith has faced discrimination and scrutiny by individuals that generalise all versions of the Islamic faith as one. In order to fully comprehend the issue of the September 11th attacks a brief history has been given for further exploration and to ensure the understanding that the attacks were committed by individuals identified as Islamic Extremists as this book will explain. Perceptions of Islam will be identified and explored to see if the media is negatively portraying the faith as a whole.
