Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor K466 (Edition for 2 Pianos) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Mozart wrote his Piano Concerto in D minor, K466, for his subscription concerts held during the Lenten season of 1785. According to the entry in his own autograph catalogue of works, it was completed on 10 February 1785 and given its premiere one day later. Leopold Mozart, then visiting in Vienna, mentioned the piece in a letter of 14 February to his daughter:An excellent new piano concerto by Wolfgang was being written out by the copyist when we arrived, and your brother had not even had time to play through the Rondo as he had to supervise the work of copying. This Urtext edition of the concerto (with orchestral accompaniment arranged for second piano - 2 copies required for performance) has been edited by world-renowned musicologist Christoph Wolff together with pianist Christian Zacharias. Contains the cadenzas (WoO58) by Beethoven, who gave the first public performance of the concerto in Vienna, in appendix.

Mozart schrieb sein Klavierkonzert d-Moll KV 466 fr seine Abonnementkonzerte in der Fastenzeit 1785. Laut Eintrag in seinem eigenhndigen Werkverzeichnis wurde es am 10. Februar 1785 fertiggestellt und einen Tag spter uraufgefhrt. Leopold Mozart, der damals zu Besuch in Wien war, erwhnte das Stck in einem Brief vom 14. Februar an seine Tochter: Als wir ankamen, schrieb der Kopist gerade ein hervorragendes neues Klavierkonzert von Wolfgang, und Ihr Bruder hatte noch nicht einmal Zeit, es durchzuspielen." das Rondo, da er die Kopierarbeiten berwachen musste. Diese Urtextausgabe des Konzerts (mit Orchesterbegleitung arrangiert fr das zweite Klavier - fr die Auffhrung sind 2 Exemplare erforderlich) wurde vom weltbekannten Musikwissenschaftler Christoph Wolff zusammen mit dem Pianisten Christian Zacharias herausgegeben. Enthlt im Anhang die Kadenzen (WoO58) von Beethoven, der das Konzert erstmals ffentlich in Wien auffhrte.
