Description

Collection of four blockbuster comedies. 'Pineapple Express' (2008) stars Seth Rogen, who also wrote the screenplay in collaboration with Judd Apatow and Evan Goldberg. Dale Denton (Rogen) is a stoner with a mundane courthouse job that enables him to indulge his habit to his heart's content. He regularly visits his dealer, Saul Silver (James Franco), who has recently been supplying him with a rare new strain of weed called Pineapple Express. When Dale inadvertently becomes the sole witness of a murder by a bent cop and the city's most dangerous drug lord, he panics and leaves his Pineapple Express-filled joint at the crime scene. When he realises that the weed variety is so rare that it can be traced directly back to him and only him, he and Saul are forced to go on the run - if they can get it together, that is... Will Ferrell co-writes and stars in 'Step Brothers' (2008), a comedy about two losers, Brennan Huff (Ferrell) and Dale Doback (John C. Reilly), who become stepbrothers after Brennan's mother Nancy (Mary Steenburgen) marries Dale's father Robert (Richard Jenkins). Because neither man has ever got around to leaving home despite his advanced age, the two now find themselves living together. After taking an initial dislike to one another, they eventually become united in their hatred of Brennan's successful but mean older brother Derek (Adam Scott), and come up with ever more elaborate schemes to knock him off his perch. 'Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story' (2007) is an irreverent spoof biopic of fictional rock and roll legend Dewey Cox (John C. Reilly). Friend of Elvis and the Beatles, the iconic figure of Dewey Cox bestrides the decades, churning out the hits in a career that has taken him from hick balladeer to national institution. Although he's tried every drug known to man, and bedded more than his fair share of beautiful women, the time has come for Dewey to face his greatest test - trying to win the heart of his beautiful backing singer Darlene (Jenna Fischer). But with his popularity showing no signs of abating, will the rock and roll maverick finally be able to put his hell-raising life behind him and settle down to a life of domestic bliss? 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' (2008) is written and directed by the team behind 'Knocked Up' and 'The 40 Year Old Virgin'. When struggling musician Peter Bretter (Jason Segel) is dumped by his long-term girlfriend, TV star Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell), he goes into a downward spiral. After a clumsy attempt at becoming a lothario backfires, he almost loses his job when he has a nervous breakdown. In a last ditch effort to put the past behind him, Peter heads for the sun-soaked beaches of Oahu for a well-deserved holiday. Everything goes swimmingly until Sarah turns up at the exact same resort accompanied by her new boyfriend, the wildly successful rock star Aldous Snow (Russell Brand).
