Description

Episodes 417-448 of the long-running Australian soap. Set within the walls of Wentworth Detention Centre for Women, the show offers an unflinching portrayal of issues including racism, domestic abuse, violence and rape. In this volume, prison officer Joan 'Freak' Ferguson (Maggie Kirkpatrick) continues to tighten her long-standing hold on Wentworth, despite some fairly severe disruptions in the form of car bombs, the unexpected return of former inmates and staff members to the prison and a deadly snake being set loose. Elsewhere, Lizzie Birdsworth (Sheila Florance) says goodbye to the prison after her long stint there and a number of new faces, including psychiatrist Jonathan Edmunds (Bryan Marshall), try to get to grips with life at Wentworth.
