Purgatory kabuki - Yasushi Suzuki

Samurai action story set in the underworld and the afterlife. For reasons unkown, former samurai Imanoturugi is obsessed with leaving the afterlife. To die in battle is a samurai's greateset honour. Yet, now Imanoturugui must claim 1000 swords from teh fallen warriors who now share his residence in the dark underworld. By these means alone will he be admitted back into the living world. But to what end? The story borrows heavily from various Japanese legends and myths. A skillfully mixed bag of action, suspense, classic ukiyoe art and intrigue.
