Qualitative research in community pharmacy - Sheila Phillips

This book describes qualitative research projects carried out in pharmacy practice throughout Wales. The projects give an insight of how pharmacists view their work and illustrate the potentials for the development of the pharmacists? role to meet present-day expectations. - - Separate chapters focus on the role of the pharmacist as perceived by themselves; their specific role in rural areas; the development of health promotion through community pharmacy; the potential for community pharmacists to officially report adverse reactions to medication; education of asthmatic patients in managing their condition; the development of pharmacy-based syringe and needle exchange services; the benefits of efficient transfer of information between community and hospital pharmacists when patients are admitted to and discharged from hospital; and the development of protocols to ensure quality of their services.
