This third edition includes the expansion of a number of chapters to give more information; some figures have been amended to reflect this. A chapter on quality costs has been included and additional information on quality system documentation has been included in the form of appendices. The book uses the ISO standards on quality systems as basic documents and, since 1989 when the second edition of this book was published, additional standards on quality matters have been taken into consideration. Definitions, where applicable, are taken from ISO 8402:1986.;It is a practical application of the entire field of quality assurance as a complete management system, going a long way towards dispelling the misunderstanding that quality assurance is full of mystique and jargon, and offers a consistent and logical approach that can be implemented and practised in everyday working conditions.;The author covers all activities through design, procurement, manufacture and installation, as well as service industry applications. He defines the contents of a quality system and a quality plan, leading to the development of a quality manual and the supporting procedures and instructions (including auditing).
