Three motor racing documentaries looking at a selection of legendary racing marques. 'Racing Through Time: Aston Martin' looks at the Aston Martin marque. From the post-war years and its acquisition by David Brown, through to the DB models of the 1960s, including the James Bond DB5, the name of Aston Martin has been synonomous with classic sports car design. 'Racing Through Time: Jaguar' focuses on the history of the Jaguar brand. Linked inextricably to the Le Mans 24 hours, Jaguar's success began with the C type in 1951. The D type then continued Jaguar's winning run at Le Mans in the mid 1950s and established the company worldwide. Finally 'Racing Through Time: Lotus' looks at the history of the Lotus brand. Colin Chapman, founder of Lotus, helped establish the British racing industry with his shoestring operation. His innovations led to a new approach to racing. He also manufactured road cars such as the Elan and the Elite. The Lotus story continued with its Grand Prix racing cars in the 1960s, and led on to the new innovations and world championships that proved to be the last flowering of Lotus's success during the 1970s.
