Rivers - Penny Liddiard

Cambridge Primary Geography has been specially written for the revised national curriculum at key stage 2. Each Cambridge Primary Geography topic covers the content of one Study Unit and provides stimulating and enjoyable activities suitable for children of a wide range of abilities.
This text covers one of the thematic studies identified by the national curriculum, and introduces children to both the processes and environmental aspects of the topic. Rivers are examined at a range of scales and in a variety of contexts, including a small-scale local study,
and rivers in the UK, US, China, Germany and Africa. The 'story' of the river is explored, as are features such as meanders and waterfalls. Environmental issues such as the use and control of rivers, their impact on the landscape, and pollution and management are examined through stimulating enquiry-based activities and excellent illustrations and photographs.
