Road Rash is an aggressive, action-packed game with a bad attitude. Enhanced with a helmet-full of souped-up features, this PlayStation version is the latest in the game's history that can be traced back to the Amiga. This time around, it's hardly X-rated stuff, but there are some supremely nasty characters to be found in this version. Yup, Road Rash rocks, and we're not just talking about the game-play. There's a cool-rocking soundtrack to go along with the tyre squeals and rider's grunts, with top tunes from Monster Magnet, Paw and Soundgarden: all bands responsible for making you want to ride fast. Unless you've been living in a cave for the past ten years or so, you'll know what the basic premise of Road Rash is. Ride your motorcycle (I believe `hog' is bikers' parlance) and kick or lash out at other riders. And that's about all there is to do, but this is not a criticism. Until you pick up Road Rash for yourself, there's little to say about it, apart from that once you have picked it up, you'll find it hard to put down. There are lots of weapons to be picked up as you race around, plenty of unsavoury types to play as, and a host of different game modes to keep it interesting. Hold onto your helmets, it's gonna be a rough ride.
