Triple bill of Roy Rogers westerns. In 'Sheriff of Tombstone' (1941), Brett Starr (Rogers) is mistaken for a notorious gunslinger when he arrives in Tombstone, a lawless frontier town. The corrupt mayor has sent for the hired gun in order to strong-arm the town into obeying his will. Brett and his pal Gabby (George 'Gabby' Hayes), unaware of his plans, agree to help him restore law and order. As Roy begins to suspect the mayor's evil intentions, the real gunman shows up, triggering a final showdown. In 'Sunset Serenade' (1942), Roy (Rogers) attempts to deal with villains who try to take a ranch belonging to the father of Eastener Sylvia Clark (Helen Parrish), but the villains resort to strong-arm tactics. The fact that the principal heavy is a woman (Joan Woodbury) makes Roy's task all the more difficult. In 'My Pal Trigger' (1946) Roy (Rogers) is accused of shooting Gabby (Hayes)'s horse, Golden Sovereign. A year later, the introduction of Trigger, Sovereign's son, gives him an opportunity to clear his name.
