This comprehensive collection of over 200 old photographs depicts Saltburn-by-the-Sea both as a thriving, innovative seaside town and as a delightful holiday resort. There is something for everyone between the pages of this book, which endeavours to capture the essence of Saltburn from times past to present day. Many of the photographs are very rare, as are the various extracts from 1906 car racing program. All were collected by the author from the albums of local people. In the nineteenth century Saltburn enjoyed a reputation as a fashionable spa resort, since this time it has seen many periods of depression and revival.
