They say that necessity is the mother of invention - and so it proves for young Auguste, an aristocratic refugee in flight from the avenging citizens of the French Revolution. For Auguste and his mother there is only one place to hide: the Convent of Ste Claire where the abbess is Auguste's aunt. There, poor Auguste must exchange his trousers for a nun's habit and pretend to be an innocent young girl.

Alas, in the nunnery of amorous Aunt Agatha, where the novices are nice and naughty, this strapping young lad cannot ignore his true nature for long. There's the entrancing Emilie, the lovely Louise, the adorable Adele ... for a hot-blooded youth like Auguste, how can such temptation be denied?
