Fiona Evans is a playwright whose plays have been produced at theatres including the Royal Court, the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough and the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh.
An electrifying portrayal of a dangerously charged romance between a fifteen-year-old and their teacher.
Step into a faded hotel room where a couple is having an illicit weekend away. Amidst the peeling wallpaper, they laugh, quarrel and make love, but they don't dare go out. After all, at just fifteen years old, one of them is just a child... the other their teacher.
A one-act version of Fiona Evans's play was first performed at Apartment, Newcastle, in October 2006, and transferred to The Assembly Rooms, George Street, as part of the 2007 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it won a Fringe First Award.
Scarborough was revived, in this expanded, two-part version, at the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Upstairs, London, in February 2008.
Note to performers: Scarborough can be performed as a full-length play in two parts, for four actors; or as a one-act play for two actors.
