Lila Miller, BS, DVM, is Vice President of VeterinaryOutreach and Veterinary Advisor of the American Society for thePrevention of Cruelty to Animals in New York, NY.
She is anadjunct assistant professor at the University of PennsylvaniaSchool of Veterinary Medicine and Cornell University College ofVeterinary Medicine. She is co-editor of the textbook InfectiousDisease Management in Animal Shelters, and has over 30 years ofexperience working in the field of animal sheltering.
Dr. Miller co-founded the Association of Shelter Veterinarians(ASV) in 2001 and served as a member of the task force thatresearched and wrote the ASV Guidelines for the Standards of Careof Shelter Animals.
Stephen Zawistowski, PhD, CAAB, is the Science Advisorfor The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animalsin New York, NY.
He holds a PhD in Behavior Genetics and is aCertified Applied Animal Behaviorist.
He also is an adjunctprofessor at the University of Illinois College Of VeterinaryMedicine and an adjunct faculty member in the AnthrozoologyGraduate Program at Canisius College.
Dr. Zawistowski is thefounding co-editor of the Journal of Applied Animal Welfare andScience.
