Bob Keen directs this drama in which a Scottish sheep farmer attempts to resist the efforts of a wealthy developer to buy up his land. Tam Ferrier (Bernard Hill) grew up immersed in the history and tradition of sheep farming and has successfully earned his living as a self-employed shepherd. When an English businessman announces his intention to invest heavily in the area most of the local community are delighted. Tam, however, recognises the threat to his way of life and refuses to sell his land. This sets him at odds with the community as well as the powerful developer, but can Tam help those close to him see the light and the importance of defending their heritage?
