Shibori knitted felt - Alison Crowther-Smith

Felting has become increasingly popular, as the fabric it creates is durable yet soft. Alison Crowther-Smith's extensive experience with knitted felt and her love of Japanese shibori techniques has led her to experiment with these two crafts. The result is an innovative book full of beautiful things to make and some very down-to-earth advice. Alison has created an exciting collection of garments, bags, scarves and home-ware, using combinations of textural stitches, beads and embroidery to embellish and enhance the felted knits. Knitted felt is particularly attractive but it can be hard to get reliable results. Working with some of Rowan's beautiful pure wool yarns, Alison also offers charts of washing temperatures to obtain exact shrinkage results.
