Ahmed Ben Ali was born in 1971 in Benghazi. He went to boarding school in Canada for 8 years, before returning to Libya. Viewing music as purely a hobby, he recorded around 40 tracks, released two albums, and started playing gigs in Libya with his own band. In 2008 a friend of his decided to set up a YouTube account for him, uploading two of his tracks. The account remained untouched for years before the tracks started gaining traction. Both are included on this 12-inch EP: 'Sibhana', which is an infectious Libyan reggae track and 'Damek Majeb', which leans more towards a clubby Arabic pop feel. Also include are instrumental version of both songs.
