Drama directed by John Mills starring his daughter, Hayley Mills. After witnessing the death of her childhood friend who was accidentally killed whilst playing with his father's shotgun, traumatised Brydie (Mills) finds companionship among a group of younger children with whom she pursues a new pastime: solemnly burying deceased animals in a quiet corner of the churchyard. Brydie finally finds her place in the adult world when she meets handsome young gypsy Roibin (Ian McShane). Annette Crosbie and Geoffrey Bayldon also star.
