Description

Drama starring Max Bygraves as John Saunders, a young, newly-qualified teacher with a progressive outlook who takes over a class of badly-behaved children in an inner London secondary modern. The general practice amongst the school staff is to enforce discipline with the cane, but Saunders has other ideas. However, his liberal attitude gives rise to scorn among his colleagues, and causes confusion amongst the children, who cannot decide whether to view it as a strength or a weakness.
