Description

A remake of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue team games of the early 00s, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is a dungeon crawler that has players jumping into the role of a Pokemon to... well, form a team that roams mysterious dungeons to perform rescues. You're a human who has woken up in the body of a Pokemon but, despite being plagued by strange dreams, gets to the business of exploring the hub town and questing to dungeons to help your new brethren. The game's subtleties all come in how you mix and match your team, ordering them in particular ways for particular circumstances and managing your inventory. Although it's not exactly the same as the core Pokemon games, there are plenty of similarities. Combat is turn-based and not a million miles away in the kind of strategy it demands - you'll need to do some seriously multi-dimensional thinking to see your way through. Similarly, you'll be gathering Pokemon as you go, with those who you rescue potentially wanting to join your team. It helps that the visuals have been given a watercolour overhaul to give you a bright, vibrant world to delve into. It's lush stuff, with the look of a painting brought to life.
