This game is bound to appeal to the pyromaniac in all of us. Spyro is a cuter- than-cute young dragon with a huge task on his hands. So the story goes, the villain of the piece, Gnasty Gnorc, cast a spell on the five Dragon Worlds, turning the elder members of the dragon families into frozen crystal, and turning all their valuable jewels into his minions. Little Spyro escaped his icy fate by simply being so small, and the spell shot right over his head. The aim of the game is to help Spyro through the five frozen Dragon Worlds, and Gnasty Gnorc's Industrial World, releasing the dragon elders as he goes along. Upon encountering any of Gnorc's minions, Spyro can either charge at them or flame `em up with some hot nostril action. It may sound a little simplistic, but even for a supposedly mature gamer such as yours truly, Spyro The Dragon is a truly entertaining playing experience. For starters, our titular hero is such a handsome little devil, it's impossible not to warm to him, and the missions he has to accomplish is a classic good versus evil scenario. Spyro The Dragon's gameplay is an absolute pleasure to behold, and should appeal to all ages. Even if you're not such a big fan of `platform adventures', may I suggest that you check your pulse if you don't enjoy playing Spyro The Dragon. It's flaming fantastic!
