Description

Mana fans have been waiting a looooooong time for a new mainline entry to the series. It's not like Square Enix forgot all about it - there have been plenty of spin-offs and 3D remakes - but it's been 20 years since we last got a full-blooded new entry to the series. You take on the role of Val, a swordsman who has been chosen to escort a party of people chosen to sacrifice their lives to sustain the Tree of Mana. One of them is Hinna, Val's best pal and possible best gal, and their relationship forms the core of the story. The quest will take you across a lush, semi-open world and into the path of ferocious (and, let's be honest, adorable) monsters. The journey will open your eyes to the truth of the world and pose the question: can we escape our fates? While there's a lot of story to sink your teeth into, the combat is arguably where Vision of Mana shines. It's fast and frantic, layering together different systems such as Elemental weaponry in clever ways that build into a deeply satisfying challenge. Visions of Mana has been a long time coming, and now it's time to find out if it was worth the wait.
