Newly remastered, the original composition by John Williams is performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. Since the release of the first Star Wars movie in 1977, the Star Wars saga has had a seismic impact on both cinema and culture, inspiring audiences around the world with its mythic storytelling, captivating characters, groundbreaking special effects and iconic musical scores composed by Williams. 'The Empire Strikes Back' film and soundtrack were highly commended by the movie industry, where it went on to win two Academy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. Williams' score was awarded the Anthony Asquith Award for Film Music at the BAFTA Awards in 1981.
