In the 1960s, the final decade of mainline steam on the British railway system, Kenneth Oldham amassed a sizeable private archive filming various locomotives at work. Arranged here to provide an chronological account of the decade, this collection of Oldham's footage features both scheduled steam services and steam-hauled rail tours, including film of such express classes as 'Battle of Britain', 'Merchant Navy' and 'Britannia', along with coverage of the Pegler Pullman, the Great Central Tour and the Moorlands Special. Also includes newsreel stories from the era.
