Stella and the Orbits - Ian Pillinger

Fourteen year old Sam Phillips' garage rock band is going nowhere. He and his schoolmates need a gimmick; something to get them noticed. Stella, a little rescued dog with a unique and astonishingly mysterious ability, seems to provide the answer and stardom suddenly beckons. However the small dog's strange talent soon proves to have a dark origin, plunging the band into a terrible intrigue. Sam and his friends find themselves questioning the future they had hoped for. Forced to take matters into their own hands, they realise that their suddenly acquired celebrity status must be used to bring a halt to the horrifying fate awaiting hundreds of cloned dogs.
