Laurence Krantz
is a founder and Managing Director of Euro Log Limited, Europe's pioneers in formalised project risk analysis and management. In that capacity he introduced the practical application of project risk management in Britain, in 1975, working with North Sea oil and gas operators. A decade later he was instrumental in instigating and developing the first UK public sector initiative in project risk management through the Ministry of Defense Procurement Executive. Mr Krantz's ability to draw upon 24 years of personal and collective (Euro Log) applications experience across a broad spectrum of industries and project types has equipped him with a depth of insight and breadth of perspective in dealing with investment project uncertainty throughout the investment life cycle. Prior to founding Euro Log, Mr Krantz worked as a consultant with a marine planning consultancy and with the US department of Defense as a naval material scientific and technical specialist. Mr Krantz holds a BSc degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Webb Institute.
Allan Thomason holds an honours degree in engineering from King's College, London University, is chartered engineer and has an MBA from Cranfield University, School of Management. He worked for several years with leading UK constructions firms and for client companies, planning, designing and implementing major international projects where he obtained in depth experience of managing complex technical and commercial risks. He is now a chief consultant with Euro Log Limited and provides support to firming diverse businesses in the oil, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications and defence industries, facilitating improved investment decision-making and risk management. Through is work, he is interested in developing pragmatic practices for decision management by integrating and developing techniques and tools from diverse fields and widening their use by business managers.
