Documentary chronicling the events of the Iranian hostage crisis in 1980. Following the eruption of the Iranian revolution in 1979, the US embassy in Tehran was stormed by militants and its personnel seized. But six diplomats were lucky enough to escape and were later granted refuge by the Canadian ambassador Ken Taylor. The programme documents the key role played by the ambassador in easing the crisis and tells the story of how the Canadian government, along with the American CIA, devised a plan to extract the fugitives out of the war-torn country, an event that came to be known as the 'Canadian Caper'.
