How's this for an elevator pitch: the ultimate Worms Battle Royale game. As soon as the other person in the elevator throws in the caveat that it's all real-time, not turn-based, you can immediately grasp that Worms Rumble has the makings of a heck of a lot of fun. Of course, trading turn-based combat (which effectively freezes you and your opponents in place and gives you a lot of thinking time) for frantic real-time shoot-outs is a real change of pace. In fact, Worms Rumble leans into its increased speed and the matches are downright frantic. The worms move at an impressive speed considering they have no legs, and the classic arsenal of items like rifles, shotguns, bazookas, sheep launchers and the almighty Holy Hand Grenade will really keep you on your toes. Team17 learned its lesson about 3D worms a long time ago, so the stages are kept to 2.5D, but they're expansive and complex nonetheless, so there's no danger of getting fed up of your environments. Alongside the sudden death Battle Royale modes Last Worm Standing and Last Team Standing there's a deathmatch option which tends to last a bit longer thanks to the ability to respawn. This evolution of the Worms formula ratchets things up way past 10, but it's still Worms through and through.
