A documentary following the active service seen by the Blenheim bomber in the Second World War and the work that went into creating it. Replaced late in the war by new, advanced planes, the Blenheim had played an important part in all the theatres of war. It had been designed by Bristols in 1935 for the proprietor of the Daily Mail, Lord Rothermere, who wanted to show that Britain could match the rest of the world when it came to aircraft construction. The new plane could fly at 300mph, faster than any existing RAF fighter, and it was employed in the first four years of the war even though many were destroyed on missions. The video also looks at the work of a restoration team at RAF Duxford in the 1990s.
