Set of documentaries charting American crime in the first half of the Twentieth century. 'The Roaring Twenties' is a look at the effect immigration and Prohibition had on the early years of the century. Two young first generation immigrants, Johnny 'Papa' Torrio and Alfonse 'Scarface' Capone saw the opportunities bootlegging could bring them and Capone went on to become the 'Godfather of Crime'. 'The Violent Years' is a look at the effects of the Great Depression of 1929 and focuses on the lives and crimes of Meyer Lansky, Charlie 'Lucky' Luciano, Frank Costello, Bugsy Siegel, George 'Machine Gun' Kelly, John Dillinger and Bonnie and Clyde. 'Crime Inc.' is a look at the links between two American organisations during the middle years of the century: organised crime and the CIA.
