Description

This documentary chronicles the rebuilding of the German Imperial Navy following the destruction of the fleet at Scapoaflow in 1919. The Treaty of Versailles created the Imperial Navy, allowing it only very limited scope, but there followed the construction of some internationally acclaimed battleships, from lightweight cruisers to armour plated ships. Some of these models were taken into the Navy, seeing active service during the Second World War.
