In 'The Killing of a Chinese Bookie' (1976), a small-time gambler loses heavily in a game and is offered a chance to clear his debt by murdering an underworld figure known as 'The Chinese Bookie'. Finally, in 'Opening Night' (1977), an actress finds herself on the brink of a mental breakdown on the opening night of her Broadway play.
