Independently produced psychological drama which attempts to examine both the state of mind and the motivations behind John Lennon's killer, Mark David Chapman (Jonas Ball). Factually accurate, with Chapman's dialogue taken from diaries and interviews, the film tracks Chapman's life over a period of several weeks, prior to and after the murder. Linking his intense interest in J.D. Salinger's 'Catcher In The Rye', whose main character despises 'phonies', to Lennon's journey from political activist to wealthy house-husband, a chain of events is set in motion that ultimately leads the emotionally unstable self-obsessive to his appointment at the Dakota buildings.
