Description

The late, legendary film director John Huston narrates 'The Marilyn Monroe Story' (1964), profiling the troubled life and extraordinary career of the most iconic of 20th century movie actresses. Features archive film clips and interviews with friends, cast and crew who worked with the much loved, and sometimes reviled, star. 'Home Town Story' (1951) is a classic Hollywood drama featuring an early performance from Monroe. Blake Washburn (Jeffrey Lynn) is a local politician embittered when he fails to get re-elected and who blames corporate interests for his fall from grace. He sets about getting his revenge via a job writing a column in his uncle's newspaper, exposing the undemocratic machinations of big business. But when his sister Iris (Monroe) is trapped underground in a cave-in, it is one of the big businesses he has railed against that comes to her aid, throwing him into a moral dilemma.
