'Michael Palin's Hemingway Adventure' (1999) celebrates Hemingway's centenary by retracing the steps of the famous American author from Paris to Pamplona, Milan to Montana, and Kilimanjaro to Key West. In 'Sahara' (2002), Palin undertakes a daunting journey across the Sahara desert, experiencing the various human cultures that can be found in the desert, and learning about the different ways in which man has learned to live in this most inhospitable of environments. Finally, in 'Himalaya' (2004), Palin undertakes his most challenging journey yet: across the Himalayas, the greatest mountain range on earth, made up of a virtually unbroken wall of rock stretching 1800 miles from the borders of Afghanistan to south-west China.
