A collection of short films giving an inside view of the 1984/5 miners' strike. Various independent filmmakers decided to show their support for the miners' strike using the tools they had available: their cameras. On the picket lines, at the marches and in the soup kitchens, they recorded the testimonies of striking miners, their wives and supporters, in a fight against the anti-strike propaganda that dominated the mainstream media. The films they produced are a crucial document of a cataclysmic episode of British history, which ended in defeat for the miners and for the trade union movement as a whole.
