Benjamin Bratt stars in this drama directed by his brother, Peter Bratt, about a tough San Francisco man attempting to come to terms with his son's sexuality. Che Rivera (Bratt) knows how hard life can be. Having served time in prison, battled alcohol addiction and lost his wife, he has taken plenty of knocks. His love for his high-achieving son, Jesse (Jeremy Ray Valdez), keeps him going and is his chief source of pride. When Che discovers that Jesse is gay and has a boyfriend, Jordan (Max Rosenak), he is thrown into crisis. His neighbour, Lena (Erika Alexander), attempts to mediate between Jesse and the angry Che, encouraging the latter to overcome his prejudices and accept his son for who he is. Will Che find a way to reconcile with Jesse?
