Description

Aviation documentary about the most famous British fighter aircraft of World War Two, the Supermarine Spitfire. Entering service in 1938, the Spitfire proved more than a match for the fighters of the German Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain, and went on to serve in all theatres of war during the conflict. This documentary examines the design specifications of the aircraft, the manufacture and operational life, as well as including archive footage of the Spitfire in action and interviews with veteran pilots.
