Aviation documentary examining the workhorse of the RAF bomber fleet in World War Two, the Vickers Wellington. First commissioned in 1934 after Churchill's warnings about German rearmament, the Wellington saw active sevice from the outbreak of war and was used throughout the conflict on a huge variety of missions, with a Geodetic frame that allowed it to take tremendous punishment from enemy fire and keep flying. Includes rare archive footage, as well as interviews with test pilot Jock Bruce, head of Vickers Sir George Edwards, and veteran crewmen.
