Two-part documentary and reconstruction of the momentous events in Russia in 1917, originally broadcast on Channel 5. With Russia destablised by the carnage of the First World War, oppositional leaders to the Czar's regime, who had already gained ground in the preceding revolution of 1905, took their opportunity to seize power. Lenin, Trotsky and Stalin instigated a ferocious programme of reform that would transform Russia and lead to the deaths of millions. Focusing on the perspective of the mutineers at the naval base of Kronstadt who ignited the spark that lit the Revolution, the documentary uses dramatised reconstructions as well as colourised archive footage to tell the story of this historic event.
