Description

Two feature-length animes by celebrated director Makato Shinkai. In 'Voices of a Distant Star' (2002), a young pilot feels called to join the resistance after a mysterious alien force begin their annihilation of the human race. But the danger of interstellar battle is not Mikako's greatest concern: she has left behind the one young man she loves - and as she flies further into deep space, her only way to connect with Noboru is by text messages on her mobile phone. In 'The Place Promised in our Early Days' (2004), three children vow to solve the mystery of the Hokkaido tower, constructed during World War II and linked to a string of mysterious events.
