CHRISTINE HAYNES grew up in small-town Michigan and learned to sew from her mom, who learned from her grandmother. Just after graduating from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she started her sewing business, selling mostly wrap skirts at the second Chicago Renegade Craft Fair. After moving to Los Angeles, she began writing for Craft Zine which led to her first book with Potter Craft, Chic & Simple Sewing. Christine now teaches sewing at Sew L.A. in the Atwater Village neighborhood of Los Angeles. She also writes for magazines and her blog, designs and sews clothing, and designs sewing patterns. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The New York Post, The Los Angeles Times, Martha Stewart's Radio Channel, People.com, LA Weekly, Daily Candy, and NBC's Today Show, among others.
