Sarah and Bunny are cousins, best friends and rivals. After a crisis at the end of university sapped her confidence, Sarah's devoted her life to making a comfortable home for her family while Bunny's poured all her energy into being the most famous TV cook since Delia - and there's never anything more adventurous than goat's cheese in her fridge. When Christopher accepts a roving job with the World Bank and sends his family up to Scotland to await his homecoming, Sarah finds herself living in the house owned by her hero, famous ceramicist Archie Milne Robertson. Meanwhile Bunny is beginning to realise that her life is not all she thought it was.
