historian Dorothy Thompson, whose work radically transformed the way in
which Chartism is understood. Reclaiming Chartism as a fully-blown
working-class movement, Thompson intertwines her penetrating analyses of
class with ground-breaking research uncovering the role played by women
in the movement.
