The Order of The Knights Hospitallers of St John has its origins in the early years of the first millenium AD. The book outlines its history as a sovereign military and hospitaller order of St John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta since the early days to modern times. The Order today enjoys diplomatic relations with a number of countries and is represented in several international organizations foremost of which are the United Nations, the Council of Europe, and UNESCO.
This book gives short chronological biographies of the 28 Grand Masters of Malta from 1530 to 1798.
