To asB by t e particular Lod in s of the Cai' 5-8-nons, ome whereof are yet stan ing, and adjoining to the River running behind them, we come to the place where the Abbat's Lodgings were sometimes standing, which was in the Ground now called joining to the Mill-head, and without the common Court or Qiadrangle near to the great Gate; they were ve s acious, Fair and large, and had an I-lall morerhesitting a common Societ, than a private Man. Herein the Abbat wit his Family did for the most art take his refection, excepting some particuar high Days, when h' Wsence was required in the publick Refectory. e find 1' this Place to be built in Abbat Lecch's time: As also the great Chamber adjoining to the Hall, most of iit Days; especially the great Stone-Stairs that led up to the Hall, which by report were I i broad commonly by the Deanes, was lin'd within A loose Pa er.
