When a group of international activists arrive on the FaroeIslands, intent on stopping the traditional whale hunts, tensionsbetween islanders and protestors run high. And when awoman is found viciously murdered only hours after a violentconfrontation, the circumstances seem purposely designed toincrease animosity between the two sides.

As English DI Jan Reyna and local detective Hjalti Hentzeinvestigate, it becomes increasingly clear that the murder hasother, more sinister aspects to it, and that crucial evidence isbeing hidden. Neither policeman knows who to trust, or how farsome people might go to defend their beliefs.
