The restoration of the once magnificent gardens of Wickersham Priory is to be done by Lawrence Kingston, retired professor of botany, amateur sleuth and eccentric bon viveur. When, in the process of clearing the site, he finds an
ancient healing well concealed within its depths he also finds the remains of a human skeleton.
